commit 6647f7a06eb030a2384ec71f0bb2e78854afabfe upstream.
Check return value of lp5xx_read and if non-zero, jump to code at end of
the function, causing lp5523_stop_all_engines to be executed before
returning the error value up the call chain. This fixes the original
commit (248b57015f35) which was reverted due to the University of Minnesota
problems.

commit 8d1beda5f11953ffe135a5213287f0b25b4da41b upstream.
This reverts commit 248b57015f35c94d4eae2fdd8c6febf5cd703900.
Because of recent interactions with developers from @umn.edu, all
commits from them have been recently re-reviewed to ensure if they were
correct or not.
Upon review, this commit was found to be incorrect for the reasons
below, so it must be reverted. It will be fixed up "correctly" in a
later kernel change.
The original commit does not properly unwind if there is an error
condition so it needs to be reverted at this point in time.

commit ff5c89d44453e7ad99502b04bf798a3fc32c758b upstream.
These two drivers do not provide remove method and use devres for
allocation of other resources, yet they use led_classdev_register
instead of the devres variant, devm_led_classdev_register.
Fix this.

clang points out that doing arithmetic between diffent enums is usually
a mistake:
drivers/leds/leds-lm355x.c:167:28: warning: bitwise operation between different enumeration types ('enum lm355x_tx2' and 'enum lm355x_ntc') [-Wenum-enum-conversion]

reg_val = pdata->pin_tx2 | pdata->ntc_pin | pdata->pass_mode;

In this driver, it is intentional, so add a cast to hide the false-positive
warning. It appears to be the only instance of this warning at the moment.

When lp55xx_read() fails, "status" is an uninitialized variable and thus
may contain random value; using it leads to undefined behaviors.
The fix inserts a check for the return value of lp55xx_read: if it
fails, returns with its error code.

commit d1aa577f5e191d77d3ad62da93729b5af9532bb4 upstream.
Workqueue, 'set_brightness_work' is used for scheduling brightness control.
This workqueue is canceled when the LED class device is unregistered.
Currently, LED subsystem handles like below.
cancel_work_sync(&led_cdev->set_brightness_work)
led_set_brightness(led_cdev, LED_OFF)
However, this could be a problem.
Workqueue is going to be canceled but LED device needs to be off.
The worst case is null pointer access due to scheduling a workqueue.
LED module is loaded.
LED driver private data is allocated by using devm_zalloc().
LED module is unloaded.
led_classdev_unregister() is called.
cancel_work_sync()
led_set_brightness(led_cdev, LED_OFF)
schedule_work() if LED driver uses brightness_set_blocking()
In the meantime, driver private data will be freed.
..scheduling..
brightness_set_blocking() callback is invoked.
For the brightness control, LED driver tries to access private
data but resource is removed!
To avoid this problem, LED subsystem should turn off the brightness first
and wait for completion.
led_set_brightness(led_cdev, LED_OFF)
flush_work(&led_cdev->set_brightness_work)
It guarantees that LED driver turns off the brightness prior to
resource management.

commit f16703360da7731a057df2ffa902306819c22398 upstream.
Some PWMs are disabled by default or the default pin setting
does not match the LED_OFF state (e.g., active-low leds).
Hence, the driver may end up reporting 0 brightness, but
the leds are actually on using full brightness, because
it never enforces its default configuration.
So enforce it by calling led_pwm_set() after successfully
registering the device.

commit cbe99c538d1776009e8710755bb6e726f7fffa9b upstream.
gcc gets confused about the control flow in ktd2692_parse_dt(), causing
it to warn about what seems like a potential bug:
drivers/leds/leds-ktd2692.c: In function 'ktd2692_probe':
drivers/leds/leds-ktd2692.c:244:15: error: '*((void *)&led_cfg+8)' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
drivers/leds/leds-ktd2692.c:225:7: error: 'led_cfg.flash_max_microamp' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
drivers/leds/leds-ktd2692.c:232:3: error: 'led_cfg.movie_max_microamp' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
The code is fine, and slightly reworking it in an equivalent way lets
gcc figure that out too, which gets rid of the warning.

The commit [b67893206fc0: leds:lp55xx: fix firmware loading error]
tries to address the firmware file handling with user helper, but it
sets a wrong Kconfig CONFIG_FW_LOADER_USER_HELPER_FALLBACK. Since the
wrong option was enabled, the system got a regression -- it suffers
from the unexpected long delays for non-present firmware files.
This patch corrects the Kconfig dependency to the right one,
CONFIG_FW_LOADER_USER_HELPER. This doesn't change the fallback
behavior but only enables UMH when needed.
