commit 2e5db6eb3c23e5dc8171eb8f6af7a97ef9fcf3a9 upstream.

Certain cards in conjunction with certain switches need a little more
time for link setup that results in ethtool link test failure after
offline test. Patch adds a loop that waits for a link setup finish.

Changes in v2:

<title>be2net: Fix number of Rx queues used for flow hashing</title>

commit 718f4a2537089ea41903bf357071306163bc7c04 upstream.

Number of Rx queues used for flow hashing returned by the driver is
incorrect and this bug prevents user to use the last Rx queue in
indirection table.

Let's say we have a NIC with 6 combined queues:

[root@sm-03 ~]# ethtool -l enp4s0f0
Channel parameters for enp4s0f0:
Pre-set maximums:
RX: 5
TX: 5
Other: 0
Combined: 6
Current hardware settings:
RX: 0
TX: 0
Other: 0
Combined: 6

Default indirection table maps all (6) queues equally but the driver
reports only 5 rings available.

[root@sm-03 ~]# ethtool -x enp4s0f0
RX flow hash indirection table for enp4s0f0 with 5 RX ring(s):
    0: 0 1 2 3 4 5 0 1
    8: 2 3 4 5 0 1 2 3
   16: 4 5 0 1 2 3 4 5
   24: 0 1 2 3 4 5 0 1
...

Now change indirection table somehow:

[root@sm-03 ~]# ethtool -X enp4s0f0 weight 1 1
[root@sm-03 ~]# ethtool -x enp4s0f0
RX flow hash indirection table for enp4s0f0 with 6 RX ring(s):
    0: 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
...
   64: 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1
...

Now it is not possible to change mapping back to equal (default) state:

[root@sm-03 ~]# ethtool -X enp4s0f0 equal 6
Cannot set RX flow hash configuration: Invalid argument

commit 0f989f749b51ec1fd94bb5a42f8ad10c8b9f73cb upstream.

The patch "module: fix types of device tables aliases" newly requires that
invocations of

MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE(type, name);

come *after* the definition of `name'. That is reasonable, but some
drivers weren't doing this. Fix them.

Return value from be_mcc_notify_wait() contains a base completion status
together with an additional status. The base_status() macro need to be
used to access base status.

<title>be2net: set EQ DB clear-intr bit in be_open()</title>

On BE3, if the clear-interrupt bit of the EQ doorbell is not set the first
time it is armed, ocassionally we have observed that the EQ doesn't raise
anymore interrupts even if it is in armed state.
This patch fixes this by setting the clear-interrupt bit when EQs are
armed for the first time in be_open().

<title>be2net: fix qnq mode detection on VFs</title>

<id>urn:sha1:66064dbc0c787b11dacb3b07ee5157edf084870b</id>

The driver (on PF or VF) needs to detect if the function is in qnq mode for
a HW hack in be_rx_compl_get() to work.

The driver queries this information using the GET_PROFILE_CONFIG cmd
(since the commit below can caused this regression.) But this cmd is not
available on VFs and so the VFs fail to detect qnq mode. This causes
vlan traffic to not work.

The fix is to use the the adapter-&gt;function_mode value queried via
QUERY_FIRMWARE_CONFIG cmd on both PFs and VFs to detect the qnq mode.

Also QNQ_MODE was incorrectly named FLEX10_MODE; correcting that too as the
fix reads much better with the name change.

Pull request: Fixes for new ethtool RSS commands

This addresses several problems I previously identified with the new
ETHTOOL_{G,S}RSSH commands:

1. Missing validation of reserved parameters
2. Vague documentation
3. Use of unnamed magic number
4. No consolidation with existing driver operations

I don't currently have access to suitable network hardware, but have
tested these changes with a dummy driver that can support various
combinations of operations and sizes, together with (a) Debian's ethtool
3.13 (b) ethtool 3.14 with the submitted patch to use ETHTOOL_{G,S}RSSH
and minor adjustment for fixes 1 and 3.

<title>be2net: cleanup MCC async event processing code</title>

The MCC async event processing code has 2 issues:
a) because of long struct names the code indentation is badly broken
b) description and definitions of how an MCC completion is interpreted as
an async event are confusing (for e.g. the last word of an MCC event is
named "code", while "code" is just a sub-field of the last word.)

This patch fixes the structure definitions, comments and re-factors code
as needed.

<title>be2net: re-factor MCCQ error status handling code</title>

This patch improves MCCQ error status handling in the following ways:
a) A MCC cmd completion returns a base-status and an addl-status.
So far, the routine be_mcc_compl_process() returned only the "status" value.
Now, embedd both statuses in the return value and let the caller routine access
the value of interest using base_status() and addl_status() macros.

b) Rename variables accordingly (base/addl) to avoid confusion while error
checking.

b) Some of the errors returned by FW are harmless and so an error msg is not
logged for such errors. Capture this logic in a separate routine to make the
code more readable.
