[ Upstream commit 64c3f648c25d108f346fdc96c15180c6b7d250e9 ]

Once in a while I see build errors similar to the following
when building images from a clean tree.

  Building powerpc:virtex-ml507:44x/virtex5_defconfig ... failed
  ------------
  Error log:
  arch/powerpc/boot/treeboot-akebono.c:37:20: fatal error:
libfdt.h: No such file or directory

  Building powerpc:bamboo:smpdev:44x/bamboo_defconfig ... failed
  ------------
  Error log:
  arch/powerpc/boot/treeboot-akebono.c:37:20: fatal error:
libfdt.h: No such file or directory

  arch/powerpc/boot/treeboot-currituck.c:35:20: fatal error:
libfdt.h: No such file or directory

Rebuilds will succeed.

Turns out that several source files in arch/powerpc/boot/ include
libfdt.h, but Makefile dependencies are incomplete. Let's fix that.

<title>powerpc/boot: Ensure _zimage_start is a weak symbol</title>

[ Upstream commit ee9d21b3b3583712029a0db65a4b7c081d08d3b3 ]

When building with clang crt0's _zimage_start is not marked weak, which
breaks the build when linking the kernel image:

 $ objdump -t arch/powerpc/boot/crt0.o |grep _zimage_start$
 0000000000000058 g .text 0000000000000000 _zimage_start

 ld: arch/powerpc/boot/wrapper.a(crt0.o): in function '_zimage_start':
 (.text+0x58): multiple definition of '_zimage_start';
 arch/powerpc/boot/pseries-head.o:(.text+0x0): first defined here

Clang requires the .weak directive to appear after the symbol is
declared. The binutils manual says:

This directive sets the weak attribute on the comma separated list of
symbol names. If the symbols do not already exist, they will be
 created.

So it appears this is different with clang. The only reference I could
see for this was an OpenBSD mailing list post[1].

Changing it to be after the declaration fixes building with Clang, and
still works with GCC.

 $ objdump -t arch/powerpc/boot/crt0.o |grep _zimage_start$
 0000000000000058 w .text	0000000000000000 _zimage_start

Reported to clang as https://bugs.llvm.org/show_bug.cgi?id=38921

<title>powerpc/boot: Fix zImage TOC alignment</title>

commit 97ee351b50a49717543533cfb85b4bf9d88c9680 upstream.

Recent toolchains force the TOC to be 256 byte aligned. We need to
enforce this alignment in the zImage linker script, otherwise pointers
to our TOC variables (__toc_start) could be incorrect. If the actual
start of the TOC and __toc_start don't have the same value we crash
early in the zImage wrapper.

GCC 5 generates different code for this bootwrapper null check that
causes the PS3 to hang very early in its bootup. This check is of
limited value, so just get rid of it.

Commit 746c9e9f92dd "of/base: Fix PowerPC address parsing hack" limited
the applicability of the workaround whereby a missing ranges is treated
as an empty ranges. This workaround was hiding a bug in the etsec2
device tree nodes, which have children with reg, but did not have
ranges.

in commit 29f1aff2c (powerpc: Copy bootable images in the default
install script) we changed to copying all the built boot targets based
on the assumption that it's backwards compatible. It turns out that
debian devived installkernel scripts will barf if not given exactly 4
args.

This change reverts make install to just install the vmlinux (we can
change the dfault in a seperate patch) and introduces a new make
zInstall which works with a more flexible installkernel script.
